Description
Obersaxen Ski Resort is located in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.
It is a popular destination for both locals and international skiers due to its scenic beauty and varied terrain. The resort offers a unique skiing experience with its well-groomed slopes, stunning panoramic views, and a charming village atmosphere.
Obersaxen has no clear hub, it's access points are lots of small villages on a plateau above the valley floor that you can access from Ilanz/Glion.
The spread of settlements across the plateu in Vella, Valata, Misanenga, Chummenbuhl and Meierhof can all directly access the ski area.
The après-ski scene in Obersaxen is relaxed and cozy. Visitors can unwind and socialize in the various mountain huts and restaurants scattered throughout the resort. These establishments offer a combination of traditional Swiss cuisine and international dishes, creating a diverse culinary experience. While Obersaxen may not have the bustling nightlife of larger resorts, it provides a charming and laid-back atmosphere for après-ski activities.
Valata sector is the best hub for beginners, with a mini drag lift and a collection of blues from the mid and top stations. Intermediate and advanced skiers might find the area a bit limited in terms of challenging terrain
