Overview
This multi-day ski tour will take you to two different refuges, giving you the option to stay in each place for a night or two - so we tour in the optimal conditions.
You will start off with a skills day honing avalanche safety skills and off piste skiing before heading out into the remote Alpine wilderness.
Your guide for the trip is an experienced UIAGM high mountain guide and ski instructor local to the area. He has lots of local knowledge and will make your safety his top priority. S
afety equipment including avalanche safety kit is included but ski touring kit is not included as many people have their own kit. This is possible to hire for a supplement
Accomodation
You will spend the first two nights in Gap and again at the end of your trip on a bed and breakfast basis in a hotel in the heart of the town. (Mon Hotel Gap)
The 2 refuges offer half board accomodation.
Refuge de la Blanche and Refuge d’Agnel are both recently refurbished with large dining areas, dormitories and even showers, flush toilets, running water (a luxury in the winter) and a bar!
Is this tour for me?
Although ski touring experience is not essential for this trip, we do recommend that you have some off piste experience in different snow conditions. It will help you to enjoy the trip more if you have a high level of fitness and are comfortable skiing on piste as well as off piste.

Day 5 Col de Chamoussère (2884m) and Refuge d'Agnel (2580m)
Guided ski tour taking in the wild Col de Chamoussière.
You’ll leave the Vallée de la Blanche, with a steady skin up to the Col de Chamoussière. From here there is the possibility to take in the peak Caramantran at 3025m which has a short but interesting ridge climb!

Day 7 Le Grand Queyras (3114m)
Guided ski tour to the magnificent Grand Queyras - the grand finale!
For the last day you have several options before heading down. Pic de Foreant or le Grand Queyras are both beautiful tours. By now you will have a good sense of the local conditions and your own ability and you can discuss which option is going to be the best for the 'grand finale' with your guide.
After your peak, you will ski down the valley to a small village, where you can have a drink in a bar and relax after a pretty full on but incredible week! Your guide will then go and pick up the minibus and take you back to your starting point in Gap for a well-deserved shower and night out in town!!
