Hey! ​ I'm Vic A non-binary, trans masc human who's addicted to snowsports. ​ I want all queer people to have the opportunity to experience the freedom and fun of skiing and snowboarding without being intimidated by the cis het, Tory stereotypes. (I also just want more adventure friends) It's important for me to use what little platform I can build to be visible and 100% myself, so queers and other minority groups can see that there's space for us, we exist and the world of skiing is open to everyone (who can afford it). Snowclans Inclusion policy What is Snowclans? ​ Snowclans started as a passion project in lockdown, creating a database of all the holiday options for skiers & snowboarders who had no one to ride with: From organised solo chalets to adventure tours with guides. ​ From there in 2022/23 I expanded it into a community + introduced social holiday options promoting shared chalets. The community ethos has always been inclusivity. I have a passion, stubbornness and privilege that has meant I am happy to enter spaces where I will very likely be an outlier, I recognise that it can be intimidating for many and want to create a safer space for them, ideally meeting people who share some common experience. ​ Who knows what the 2023/24 season will bring. Whilst interest in this community is not unsubstantial, creating engagement amongst members has been a challenge. I will still in some way be here educating, connecting and inspiring. ​

When to ski in Europe Pick the perfect time for your needs With aprox 20 weeks available to ski, you need to know when is best for you Map When to go skiing in Europe December January Feb March April May X Mas / NYE Half term 6th Jan - 10th Feb 24th Feb - 30th March Easter Cheapest week 2nd - 23rd 13th + Cusp Weeks The weeks at the start and end of the season are much more unpredictable in terms of snow conditions. With unpredictability comes cheaper prices in your average resort. If you're booking in advance, the best option is to book somewhere with high altitude but these snowsure resorts come with a higher price tag. If you hold your nerve, perhaps booking flights or trains only, you can then book accomodation and transfers to the best conditions. Holidays School holidays are always almost double the price of any other time of year, and they're the busiest - if you don't have to go, don't go. Even ski passes are more expensive. ​ Note: European countries overlap holiday periods in Feb & April but not perfectly, we've highlighted peak weeks, but there may be some spill over either side. ​ However, we must say spending Christmas and NYE in the snow is one of the best experiences ever. when Solo ski holidays can allow you greater flexibility.
