This is a Linear ski area, travel from end to end in a day, with slopes stretched across 4 peaks and concentrated at either end. The area stretches down the valley, so for easy access to all the ski domaine on a daily basis, its most efficient to stay in a central position around Gerlos or Konigsleiten . These however, cannot be accessed by rail. Which resorts are for you? Zell am Ziller: Located at the entrance of the Zillertal Arena, Zell am Ziller is a charming resort with a traditional Austrian ambiance. The town and train station are close to the river running through the valley, and extend out towards the base of the mountain, where the 2 access Gondola are on the outskirts of town. Regular ski bus lines operate around the town and down the valley. The other towns on the Zillertal Arena lay in a perpendicular valley, splintered off from the Zillertal. Gerlos : Situated in the middle of the Zillertal Arena, Gerlos is a popular and vibrant resort known for its lively après-ski scene.
