Train Connections

The train from Zürich airport takes around two and a half hours, Basel is three and a half hours away and the train from Geneva takes five hours.

From Zurich Airport you have to switch at Zurich Hbf, then take a train to Göschenen, where you'll switch and take a quick 12min train to Andermatt on the regional line.

For Disentis you take an alternative route via Chur, where you change to a regional train to Disentis (3hr)

Swiss train tickets are released 60 days in advance. Buy as early as possible for cheapest prices and most availability.

The easiest way to plan train travel is use The Trainline (click the logo below)

This is because it's the most comprehensive integration of all European train operators, so you can even plan cross-border travel.

On average you can book 3-4 months in advance, read our full Guide to European Rail travel
