Description

Bardonecchia is a charming ski resort located in the Susa Valley of the Italian Alps. With a rich history dating back to Roman times, it offers a unique blend of tradition and modern amenities.

The resort hosted the snowboarding events during the 2006 Winter Olympics, further establishing its reputation as a world-class winter sports destination.

The ski area of Bardonecchia is divided into three main sectors: Colomion-Les Arnauds, Melezet, and Jafferau

The Colomion-Les Arnauds and Melezet ski areas have wide well-marked ski runs mainly in the woods, where a dense and creative web of routes which depart from the centre of the town – at Campo Smith, at just over 1,330 metres above sea level – reaching the vast treeless plateau of Vallon Cros at 2,400 metres. This is the biggest connected area.

Just 5 minutes from the town centre, thanks to the free shuttle buses, you can reach the Jafferau ski area which reaches a maximum altitude of 2,800 metres. Here you can mainly ski without woods in a high-altitude environment, with an incomparable vista of the surrounding mountain

When it comes to après-ski, Bardonecchia offers a vibrant and lively scene. The resort has a good selection of bars, restaurants, and cafes where visitors can relax and socialize after a day on the slopes.

The town itself has a traditional Italian ambiance, with charming narrow streets and a range of shops and boutiques.

Bardonecchia is a good option for short breaks, with its international connections due to its close proximity to Modane and Oulx train stations meaning there's high speed connections close by.
