Description

Monterosa Ski is a renowned ski area located in the Aosta Valley region of Italy. It encompasses three main valleys: Ayas, Gressoney, and Valsesia, offering a vast expanse of ski terrain for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

The ski area is named after the majestic Monte Rosa, the second-highest peak in the Alps. The history of Monterosa Ski dates back centuries, as the region was traditionally home to small mountain villages with strong agricultural roots. Over time, these villages embraced tourism and developed into charming ski resorts.

The resort towns of Champoluc, Frachey, Stafal, Gressoney-La-Trinité, and Alagna Valsesia serve as gateways to the ski area, each offering a unique blend of tradition and modern amenities. The size and atmosphere of the towns vary quite a bit.

Champoluc is the largest and liveliest of the towns, while Stafal and Frachey are much smaller and more peaceful.

Gressoney-La-Trinité is a good compromise between the two, offering a family-friendly atmosphere with good public transport connections.

Alagna Valsesia is the largest of the towns and has a lively après-ski scene.

Gressoney-La-Trinité and Stafal sit in the middle valley - it is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore the whole of the Monte Rosa ski area.

When it comes to après-ski, Monterosa Ski offers a delightful blend of Italian charm and mountain hospitality. The resort towns are dotted with cozy mountain huts and traditional restaurants where skiers can indulge in delicious local cuisine and relax with a drink after a day on the slopes. The après-ski scene is lively yet relaxed, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.
