Description

Saas-Fee is a picturesque ski resort located in the Swiss Alps. Known as "The Pearl of the Alps," it offers breathtaking scenery and excellent skiing opportunities. With its car-free village, traditional architecture, and charming atmosphere, Saas-Fee has a unique appeal.

The history of Saas-Fee dates back to the 13th century when the first settlements were established. Over time, it transformed into a popular tourist destination, especially for winter sports enthusiasts. Unlike many purpose-built ski resorts, Saas-Fee has managed to maintain its traditional village charm.

The resort boasts 100 kilometers of slopes at between 2500m and 3500m , meaning the snow conditions are immaculate throughout the season. This small local area is supported by extra area's within the valley (check out the related areas at the bottom)

Off-piste adventurers can explore the surrounding backcountry and Saas-Fee is also famous for its glacier, both of which come into their own later in the season.

Thanks to its high altitude and well-maintained slopes, skiers can enjoy a scenic descent right into the heart of the village throughout the season. This makes it convenient for those looking to quickly access their accommodations or explore the après-ski scene after a day on the slopes. It's a bit chilly deep in winter due to the imposing mountain surrounding casting it in shadow early on, but delightful in spring.

Speaking of après-ski, Saas-Fee offers a vibrant and diverse nightlife. The village is dotted with cozy bars, lively pubs, and restaurants where visitors can unwind and socialize. Whether you prefer a relaxing drink by the fireplace or dancing the night away, Saas-Fee has options to suit all tastes.
