Description

Saint-Lary-Soulan is a charming ski resort located in the French Pyrenees, known for its picturesque setting and excellent skiing opportunities. Situated in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, the resort offers a unique blend of traditional village atmosphere and modern amenities, making it a popular destination for skiers of all levels.

Saint-Lary-Soulan has a rich history that dates back several centuries. It was originally a small mountain village with a strong agricultural heritage. In the 1960s, the resort underwent significant development to accommodate the growing interest in winter sports. Today, it is a purpose-built ski resort that seamlessly combines modern infrastructure with a rustic mountain ambiance.

Access to the ski area is convenient, with the resort located at the base of the slopes. Skiers can directly access the lifts from the resort, eliminating the need for ski buses or additional transportation. This proximity allows for maximum time on the slopes and easy access to the various ski runs and amenities, regardless of if you're staying in any of the 4 parts to the resort:

  • Saint Lary Village

  • Pla d'adet 1700

  • La Cabane 1600

  • Espiaube 1600.

Saint Lary Village is right at the base of the mountain at 830m, the biggest and orginial of the resort centres. There are 2 gondola available from the Centre Thermal district that take you up to Pla d'adet 1700 or La Cabane 1600, the 2 purpose built centres, from which you can then access the ski area by chair.

Pla d'adet is a sub-area of the wider ski area that is good for beginners, with a cheaper pass price, there's a beginners zone and plenty of Blue runs to progress to.

Saint Lary Espiaube 1600 sits on its own on a plateu above the Village, the smallest of the resort centres, it gives direct access to the other half of the ski area where the majority of the skiing is.
