Description
Val di Fassa, located in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, is a picturesque ski area renowned for its stunning natural beauty.
It's part of the well know Sella Ronda circuit that circles the Sella Massif (Connecting at Canazei and Campitello di fassa). Val di Fassa is a traditional mountain valley with several small villages that have grown into popular ski resorts over time.
These villages, including Canazei, Campitello, and Pozza di Fassa, have managed to maintain their authentic character and offer visitors a glimpse into the region's rich history and culture.
The resorts feature a mix of traditional chalet-style accommodations and modern hotels, providing a range of options for visitors. In terms of accessibility, Val di Fassa's main piste kms are at the junction with the Sella Ronda.
Down the valley at Pozza Di Fassa and Carezza, there's some small local areas but the km are not substatial. For the best value if you're planning on multiple day's skiing it's best to invest in a Dolomiti Superski pass so you can cross into the neighboring areas of Arabba and Val Gardena.

The closest railway stations are: Trento, Bolzano, and Ora
Choose based on where you want to stay in the Valley.
If you're planning on getting a connecting taxi, Bolzano is your closest station.
For those who want to stay in Canazei and be connected to the Sella Ronda, Trento is your best option (Bus 101) or Bolzano (180 Bus to Vigo di Fassa then 101)
These connections are not short however (see below)
From the train stations, daily bus connections to Val di Fassa are provided, managed by the service companies Trentino Trasporti (Trento) and SAD (Bolzano and Ora).
Bus tickets can be purchased at the specific ticket offices or directly on board.

Ask for the Val di Fassa Guest Card from your accomodation and activate the "First Day Mobility Pass" straight from the app Mio Trentino. The pass includes discount codes for travelling to Trentino with FlixBus and MarinoBus, and once you are in Trentino, it allows you to use public transport free of charge to reach the area where you are staying.

Every Saturday and Sunday in Dec-March there's a combined ticket from Train + Bus that coordinates the high speed train with a bus service direct to the major resort towns from Ora (BZ)
