The Full Story SnowClans Why build SnowClans? There's no one out there doing this Researching any solo ski options is incredibly time consuming and often frustrating, with large companies paying lip-service to solo travel on one page of a website, but providing no easily navigable options to look at. Ski Chalets are the ultimate in luxury, social experience but sole occupancy is the default for all the major sites, this luxury is most accessible for those with the luck and patience to organise a large group, especially with large tour operators dropping their shared catered chalets post-pandemic. That's without even considering the first step where you tried and failed to find people to plan with. So that's 2 Barriers to getting on the slopes: People + Planning The industry is relying on the low hanging fruit to support itself and neglecting the passionate individuals who want to participate too. There's no other place that aggregates holidays and instructional trips suitable for individuals to join. There's no well designed place for Chalets to open up their bookings to a room by room or person by person basis and promote to a receptive audience. The SnowClans Solution Helping both the holiday maker & the industry Social - Community of members on the look out for Ride Buddies bound by the inclusion policy of don't be a tw*t. Courses & Trips - Listings of all the Social Trips & Guided/instructional holidays suitable for individuals in one place Shared Chalets - Providing a user friendly platform where accommodation providers can advertise themselves, with individuals in mind. Covering the 2 Barriers: People - By providing a platform to connect as well as search for 3rd party options with groups Planning - By aggregating the options for holidays and accomodation in 1 place to easily search and filter with true per person pricing Data driven service We wanted to give a voice to the consumer & prove that there's passionate people out there who want to enjoy a social ski holiday Submit your desired holiday We accumulate all the data on where & when people want a chalet We have this to share with the industry We match people to the chalet deals we get Who we are I'm a massive Ski Nut, I have been since I was a child. "Luckily for me I grew up skiing with my family, but when I graduated university and (kind of) grew out of family holidays, I struggled to find a reliable group of people to go skiing with. As it's such an important part of my year I like to plan ahead, and often gave up and resigned myself to going on my own so I didn't miss out. Whilst I love the snow enough to travel alone, it's not quite as fun, and that too came with a lot of challenges." The massive Ski Nut, is Vic, the Founder. A Neuroscientist by training, an Insight consultant by trade and now a CEO by passion. Ski of choice Nordica Santa Ana 93 "Commit to nothing, ski everything" Favourite Resort Serfaus - Fiss - Ladis Amazing selection of terrain for advanced skiers both on an off piste Après Beverage Beer, can't go wrong Vic is a Non-Binary, trans masculine human. The core values of Snowclans are inclusion and authenticity, this is why Snowclans is a proudly and openly LGBTQIA+ owned and ran business. You might think this has absolutely no relevance to a business, and we agree, however unfortunately some people still feel the need to make it known that they don't like or understand your existence despite absolutely no one asking them. Therefore, it's important for us to use what little platform we have to be visible and 100% ourselves, so other minorities can see that we exist and the world of skiing is open to everyone. • Inclusion Policy | Snowclans

Membership Inclusion Policy SnowClans is for everyone, and we mean absolutely everyone, on one condition: That you are not a d*ck to others, for any reason. Why do we feel the need to emphasize this? There are common preconceived ideas about the kind of people that go on ski holidays, including but not limited to wealthy, able bodied, white and more often than not, men. This can make it intimidating for those who don't think they 'fit in' to put themselves out there with a group of other solos. On this basis we want to stress that SnowClans is a community for everyone . Our aim is to acknowledge that there's a lot of people who sit outside the stereotype, as well as fitting in it, and provide a safe space for them to come together. In order to achieve this all our associates must embody it, any evidence that a member or an advertiser does not will mean immediate removal from the site. This is a strictly no-discrimination community. We do not care about our members gender, sexuality, race, physical or mental ability or condition, religion or politics and neither should you. They hold no relevance to a ski holiday, and as they have no impact on your life, they are none of your concern. It's not woke, it's being a decent human being. We are united by a shared passion for sliding down mountains. Let's not ruin that with bigotry. Proudly Queer owned. Visibility matters.

Otztal Valley Pass Austria Europe Heart Ötztal Solden Niederthai Obergurgl Hochgurgl Hochoetz-Kühtai Vent Gries Km piste Min Height (m) Max Height (m) 363 Sub Area Multi-Area Collection No Yes Description The Otztal Valley Pass covers the whole of the Otztal Valley of the Austrian Alps. It is a large ski domain that encompasses several ski resorts, you automatically get this when you opt for more than 2 or 3 day multipasses in the key valley resorts. Solden , one of the key resorts within the Otztal Valley Pass, is a purpose-developed ski resort that has grown in popularity over the years. It offers a modern and vibrant atmosphere, with a range of accommodations, restaurants, and après-ski venues. Solden has gained international recognition as a host of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup races, attracting professional skiers and snow enthusiasts from around the globe. The resort features a lively après-ski scene, with numerous bars and clubs where visitors can unwind and enjoy live music or indulge in traditional Austrian cuisine. One of a handful of ski resorts that a James Bond was filmed in, you can visit the exhibition up the mountain with an addition to your ski pass. Solden also gives access to the glacier giving it a long ski season, but be prepared for quite the trip across multiple Gondolas to access it. Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is another notable ski area within the Otztal Valley Pass. It is a quiet resort, comprised mainly of big hotel developments. Obergurgl-Hochgurgl offers a more relaxed atmosphere compared to Solden, making it an excellent choice for families and those seeking a peaceful mountain getaway. The après-ski scene in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl is characterized by cozy bars and mountain huts, where visitors can savor a warm drink while taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Kuhtai is a high-altitude ski resort (read: Glacier) within the Otztal Valley Pass, known for its excellent snow conditions and stunning alpine scenery. It is a purpose-built resort situated at an elevation of 2,020 meters, offering ski-in/ski-out convenience right from the accommodations. Kuhtai is particularly popular among intermediate and advanced skiers who appreciate the wide range of challenging slopes and off-piste opportunities. The après-ski scene in Kuhtai is more laid-back compared to Solden, with a few cozy bars and restaurants where visitors can relax and enjoy a well-deserved break after a day on the slopes. It's one of a handful of resorts that people visit for daytrip from Innsbruck too. Valley buses run regularly up and down, a 1.5hr trip from end to end, but it's easier to take advantage of this pass with a car. Don't miss the Aqua Dome spa , with its multiple natural spring pools and spa fascilities, situated in Längenfeld its a managable trip from Solden after a days skiing to cure the aches. Conversely, other area totals are made up of 2 or more distinct areas that require transport to switch between (e.g. Ski bus). They're grouped under the same ski pass usually due to proximity. Pass price (euros) This is the 6 day ski pass price for an Adult* Price per km 6 day ski pass price divided by the number of skiable km in the pass area This is a value calculation used to compare the value of different size areas. The smaller the number, the better the value of the pass. Sub Area This area is a sub-section of a wider ski area or multi-area group. eg. Meribel is part of the 3 Valleys, but you can purchase a Meribel-only pass. Some sub-areas look like poor value (price per km) because their multi-day pass covers the wider area and therefore you technically get more km/ euro. We will revisit this at regular intervals to update. Dynamic Pricing Where dynamic pricing is in place, we've used the middle where a range is supplied. Alternatively we searched for January 2023 prices. The price will increase the closer to the time. Dynamic pricing is especially prevalent in Swiss resorts now High/ Mid / Low season Where split out, we've quoted Mid season pricing. High season includes Chrsitmas, Half terms and Easter and is more expensive. Conversely, Low season is the beginning and end of the season and will be cheaper. Multi-area prices Areas that sit within a bigger Multi area system often charge the multi-area price for multiday tickets over 2 days. So you get access to a wider area than the km quoted, whether you wanted it or not.
